The Impact of Islamic-Based Career Information Service to Improve Students Career Aspirations

Abstract

The long-term goal of this study is to know the effectiveness of information services based on Islamic teachings in improving career aspirations of students in SMA Muhammadiyah 1 of Magelang City. The future success of the students is greatly supported by how much career aspirations the student has. This study was based on the low aspirations of the students' careers in SMA Muhammadiyah 1 of Magelang City and basic of Islamic views in career is still low. Many students who do not have a career goal after completing high school according to Islamic guidance. Counseling Guidance Teachers also still use conventional career information services. The type of this research was experimental research with pre-test design and post-test group design. The sample of this study was the students of XIA class on SMA Muhammadiyah 1 of Magelang City with the numbers of 30 students. Data collecting tool in this research was psychology scale aspirations of student. The result of this research showed that there was an increase of 18.3% to career aspirations of student after giving intervention in the form of career information service based on Islam, in other words, this result indicated that career information service based on Islam is effective in improving student career aspirations in SMA Muhammadiyah 1 of Magelang City.
