One student characteristic that can be facilitated is learning style, which may be addressed using various instructional strategies, including interactive videos. Interactive videos are learning media that integrate interactive features to enhance engagement and learner interaction beyond visual and auditory elements. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of interactive video use on students’ learning outcomes while considering differences in learning styles. Using a quantitative approach, this study employed a quasi-experimental design conducted at SMPN 5 Cimahi, involving 75 students selected through cluster random sampling. The participants were divided into two groups: an experimental group that used interactive videos and a control group that received conventional instruction without interactive videos. Data was collected through pretests to measure prior understanding and posttests to assess learning outcomes after instruction. Due to the non-normal distribution of the data, the Mann–Whitney and Wilcoxon tests were used to analyze differences in learning outcomes both between and within groups. The results indicate that the use of interactive videos based on Lumi Education has a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes. In contrast, the improvement in the control group was less substantial than that of the experimental group. These findings demonstrate that Lumi Education–based interactive videos are effective in enhancing students’ learning achievement within differentiated learning environments.
Adi Septian Jaenudin, Mario Emilzoli, Toto Fathoni Copyright (c) 2025 Adi Septian Jaenudin, Mario Emilzoli, Toto Fathoni http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.iaimnumetrolampung.ac.id/index.php/numerical/article/view/6055 Tue, 23 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Pola Transformasi Aksi, Proses, Objek, dan Skema Mahasiswa dalam Memecahkan Masalah Limit Ditinjau dari Gaya Kognitif https://journal.iaimnumetrolampung.ac.id/index.php/numerical/article/view/6985
This study aims to describe the transformation patterns of Action–Process–Object–Schema (APOS) in students with Field Dependent (FD), Field Neutral (FN), and Field Independent (FI) cognitive styles when solving limit problems. The central issue addressed in this research is the low level of conceptual understanding of limits among students. The study employs an exploratory qualitative approach with a collective case study design. The research subjects consist of nine mathematics education students selected based on the results of a cognitive-style assessment. Data were collected through APOS-based problem-solving tasks, observations of students’ thinking processes, and semi-structured in-depth interviews. The analysis reveals that FD students tend to remain at the action–process stages, FN students reach the process–object stages, while FI students construct conceptual understanding up to the object–schema stages. These findings indicate that cognitive style influences the depth and flexibility of students’ understanding of the limit concept. Theoretically, this study extends the application of APOS theory by incorporating cognitive style as a mediating factor. Practically, the results recommend implementing calculus learning strategies that are adaptive to students’ cognitive styles to strengthen conceptual transformation processes in advanced mathematics learning.
Ayu Aristika Copyright (c) 2025 Ayu Aristika http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.iaimnumetrolampung.ac.id/index.php/numerical/article/view/6985 Tue, 23 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Kemampuan Literasi Matematis Siswa dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Sistem Persamaan Linear Satu Variabel Konteks Parkir Kendaraan https://journal.iaimnumetrolampung.ac.id/index.php/numerical/article/view/7120
Several previous studies have widely discussed students’ mathematical literacy; however, research that specifically analyzes junior high school students’ mathematical literacy in the topic of Linear Equations in One Variable through contextual problems remains limited. Therefore, this study aims to describe the mathematical literacy abilities of junior high school students in solving contextual problems related to the System of Linear Equations in One Variable. This study employed a qualitative research method involving 33 eighth-grade students of class VIII-I at SMP Negeri 6 Kota Jambi with diverse ability levels. The research instruments consisted of contextual essay tests, interviews, and documentation of students’ written responses. The test items were validated by experts and designed to reflect real-life situations. The results indicate that students’ mathematical literacy skills are generally low, with the majority of students classified in the low category. Students experienced difficulties in understanding information presented in the problems, formulating mathematical models, and interpreting as well as concluding the solutions. Analysis based on mathematical literacy indicators shows that only a small proportion of students were able to fulfill all three indicators comprehensively. These findings suggest that students have not yet met the demands of solving contextual problems mathematically. Bruner's learning theory and its developmental stages in depth, and to explain the application of each stage in helping students understand basic concepts of Mathematics, especially in the material of multiplication operations at the elementary school level. The problem in this study is since many elementary school students still consider Mathematics as a difficult, confusing, and less enjoyable subject. This is caused by the learning process, which is monotonous, abstract, and does not pay attention to the characteristics and stages of cognitive development of students who are still in the concrete operational phase. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach to various relevant sources such as books, scientific articles, and research journals that discuss Bruner's theory and its application in Mathematics learning. The results of the study show that the application of Bruner's three stages of mental representation, namely the enactive, iconic, and symbolic stages, can help students understand the meaning, structure, and concept of multiplication operations gradually. Thus, learning becomes more meaningful, active, interesting, contextual, and in accordance with the cognitive development of elementary school students.
Suci Aulia Safira, Sahwa Anisa, Nurul Habibah, Tiara Desky, Misrina Misrina Copyright (c) 2025 Suci Aulia Safira, Sahwa Anisa, Nurul Habibah, Tiara Desky, Misrina http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.iaimnumetrolampung.ac.id/index.php/numerical/article/view/6887 Tue, 30 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Eksplorasi Etnomatematika Konsep Geometri dan Perbandingan pada Makanan Tradisional Wingko Babat https://journal.iaimnumetrolampung.ac.id/index.php/numerical/article/view/7163
This study aims to explore the concept of ethnomathematics contained in the traditional food Wingko Babat, particularly in terms of geometry and comparison. As a case study, the analysis focuses on verses discussing the virtues of the Quran within the framework of graph algorithm applications. The verses are modeled as a graph using an adjacency matrix to represent semantic connectivity between them. The thematic structuring process is conducted by constructing a Minimum Spanning Tree (MST) using the Kruskal Algorithm to obtain an optimal connectivity structure among vertices, followed by the application of Degree Centrality to identify structurally influential vertices corresponding to Quranic verses. The results demonstrate that the combined application of MST and Degree Centrality effectively visualizes the thematic structure of the verses and highlights verses with dominant structural roles in the context of Quranic virtues. Furthermore, the Louvain Algorithm is applied to detect thematic communities, revealing natural clustering patterns that contribute to a more systematic and interpretable thematic mapping. These findings contribute to the advancement of computational Quranic studies by reinforcing data-driven thematic analysis and structured graph-based representations.
Hirawati Lubis, Toriq Roziq Copyright (c) 2025 Hirawati Lubis, Toriq Roziq http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.iaimnumetrolampung.ac.id/index.php/numerical/article/view/6865 Sat, 20 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Pemodelan Saham Sektor Energi Menggunakan Non-Homogeneous Markov Switching Autoregressive (NHMS-AR) dengan Probabilitas Transisi Non-Homogeneous https://journal.iaimnumetrolampung.ac.id/index.php/numerical/article/view/7159
The movement of energy sector stock returns is dynamic and influenced by external factors that cause changes in market conditions over time. These characteristics indicate the existence of regime shifts that cannot be optimally modeled using conventional linear time series. Therefore, this study aims to model energy sector stock returns in Indonesia using the Non-Homogeneous Markov Switching Autoregressive (NHMS-AR) approach with a focus on the transition probability between regimes influenced by exogenous variables. The data used are monthly logarithmic returns of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS), PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk (ADRO), and PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk (MEDC) for the period September 2008 to December 2024. The exogenous variables used include the Climate Risk Index, Geopolitical Risk (GPR), and Global Economic Policy Uncertainty (GEPU). The NHMS-AR model is implemented with the assumption that exogenous variables influence the probability of regime shifts, while the autoregressive structure in each regime is homogeneous. The results show that the dynamics of energy sector stock returns can be represented by two hidden regimes: a stable regime and a volatile regime. Transition probability estimates indicate that CRI and GEPU increase the probability of switching between regimes, whereas GPR exhibits an asymmetric effect, depending on the direction of the transition. Furthermore, the volatile regime has a higher degree of persistence than the stable regime. The main contribution of this study lies in the application of NHMS-AR with non-homogeneous transition probabilities to Indonesian energy sector stocks, as well as in presenting empirical evidence on the role of external factors in shaping regime switching dynamics in emerging markets.
Adam Fahmi Fandisyah, Nur Iriawan, Kartika Fithriasari Copyright (c) 2025 Adam Fahmi Fandisyah, Nur Iriawan, Kartika Fithriasari http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.iaimnumetrolampung.ac.id/index.php/numerical/article/view/7159 Tue, 30 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Comparison of K-Means and K-Medoids Algorithms in Clustering Indonesian Provinces Using Stunting Handling Index https://journal.iaimnumetrolampung.ac.id/index.php/numerical/article/view/7194
Stunting remains a major public health problem and poses a significant challenge to human resource development in Indonesia. Differences in stunting management performance across provinces indicate regional disparities that require systematic and data-driven analysis. This study aims to cluster provinces in Indonesia based on the 2022 Stunting Management Specific Index (IKPS) and to compare the performance of the K-Means and K-Medoids clustering algorithms. The study uses secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), covering 34 provinces and ten indicators composing the IKPS. Clustering was conducted using K-Means and K-Medoids algorithms. The optimal number of clusters was determined using the Elbow Method, while clustering quality was evaluated using the Davies–Bouldin Index (DBI). The results show that the optimal number of clusters is k = 5. Furthermore, the K-Medoids algorithm produces better clustering quality, as indicated by a lower DBI value compared to the K-Means algorithm, reflecting more compact clusters and clearer separation between provinces. The clustering results reveal distinct provincial groupings with varying stunting management characteristics, ranging from provinces with relatively strong and stable performance to those facing greater challenges related to geographical constraints and limited access to health services. Overall, this study demonstrates that cluster analysis is effective for identifying regional patterns in stunting management and can support policymakers in formulating more targeted, province-based strategies to improve the effectiveness of stunting prevention and intervention programs in Indonesia.
Mayang Ariani Fitria Ananta, A'yunin Sofro Copyright (c) 2025 Mayang Ariani Fitria Ananta, A'yunin Sofro http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.iaimnumetrolampung.ac.id/index.php/numerical/article/view/7194 Tue, 30 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Modeling the Ranking of Tourist Destinations in West Kalimantan Using the Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP) Approach https://journal.iaimnumetrolampung.ac.id/index.php/numerical/article/view/6753
The selection of tourist destinations in West Kalimantan that meet tourist’s needs is a challenge for tourists, due to lack of information and involves various criteria that are subjective and uncertain. An analytical method is needed to evaluate and rank tourist destinations in West Kalimantan. This research aims to rank tourist destinations in West Kalimantan so that it can become an information tool for tourists. The Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP) is a multi-criteria decision-making method that combines the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) with fuzzy logic concepts to overcome uncertainty and improve assessment accuracy. The FAHP is used in ranking cascade tourist destinations by determine the criteria (C) used in choosing tourist destinations, namely natural beauty, uniqueness of natural resources, accessibility, supporting facilities, safety and comfort, potential activities, popularity and reputation, and affordability. Furthermore, the research questionnaire was prepared based on the criteria. From the results of distributing research questionnaires, it can be determined that cascade tourism destinations are used as alternatives (A), namely Riam Jugan, Pangar, Ampakng, Mangoi, Batu Susun, Marum, Berawat'n, Parangek, Merasap, and Eria. Next, the calculation of the weight for each criterion (W) is carried out. After that, the weight matrix of each cascade tour is calculated against each criterion (X) and the preference value (Y) for each cascade tourist destination. The result of applying the FAHP method is the ranking of cascade tourist destinations based on the order of preference value (Y) from higher to lower.
Rama Valivi, Nilamsari Kusumastuti, Yudhi Yudhi, Bayu Prihandono Copyright (c) 2025 Rama Valivi, Nilamsari Kusumastuti, Yudhi Yudhi, Bayu Prihandono http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.iaimnumetrolampung.ac.id/index.php/numerical/article/view/6753 Wed, 31 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000
