Menyelami Lautan Tafsir: Epistemologi dan Pendekatan Syi’ah dalam Memahami Al-Qur’an

This article discusses Shia School of Tafsir, including methods of interpretation, prominent figures and their works, and Shia interpretations. The research adopts a qualitative approach, which relies on theoretical investigation. The type of research can be classified as library research, where data is sourced from published written materials, both in print and electronic media, relevant to the research topic. Through this approach, the research finds that Shia Tafsir is a discipline initiated by Shia adherents and followers to explore the knowledge, guidance, meanings, laws, and wisdom of the Book of Allah based on human capabilities. Advocates: Ali bin Thalib. The method used by the Shia Ismaili group is takwil, emphasizing the concept of esoteric and exoteric meanings, although they claim that only the esoteric meaning intended by the verses. The Itsna Asyariyah group also employs takwil method in interpretation, always striving to align Quranic verses with their doctrines. Meanwhile, Shia Zaidiyah tends to use a more moderate method in interpreting the Quran, closer to Ahlusunnah methods. Among Shia, both classical and contemporary, numerous tafsir works have emerged, reflecting diverse approaches and perspectives within the Shia school of thought.
