Abstract

This study explores the implementation of Islamic character values within the daily activities, culture, learning processes, and extracurricular programs at SMP Islam Al-Azhar 52 Bengkulu. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through a 20 day structured observation that covered classroom learning, school culture, administrative systems, student interactions, extracurricular activities, and counseling services. The findings show that Islamic character values such as discipline, responsibility, Islamic etiquette (adab), spirituality, cooperation, honesty, and respect are implemented through various routines including daily dhuha prayers, recitation of Asmaul Husna, morning greetings (3S), tadarus, school discipline policies, teacher student interactions, and Islamic oriented extracurricular activities. Learning activities using both the national curriculum and the Cambridge curriculum also integrate Islamic values through ethical communication, positive reinforcement, collaborative learning, and character oriented guidance. The study concludes that SMP Islam Al-Azhar 52 Bengkulu successfully internalizes Islamic character values through structured programs, consistent routines, and an integrated approach across academic and non academic activities. The 20 day observation highlights the school’s holistic and sustainable model in shaping students’ moral, spiritual, and social development within a modern Islamic educational environment
