Abstract

This study aims to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes through the application of discovery learning on circle material for Grade VIII junior high school students. Through the analysis of cycle 1 and cycle 2, this study revealed the improvement of students' mathematics learning outcomes on circle material and the impact of applying discovery learning. This learning aims to encourage students' active participation, collaboration in problem solving and application of mathematical concepts in the context of exploration and discovery. The results showed that students' mathematics learning outcomes improved significantly from Cycle 1 to Cycle 2, with the majority of students reaching the Good and Very Good categories in Cycle 2. This suggests that discovery learning is effective in improving students' mathematics learning outcomes. Therefore, this study makes an important contribution to understanding how discovery learning can influence students' learning outcomes in mathematics.
