Metodologi Tafsir Ijmālī: Studi Tafsir Al-Wajīz dan Tafsīr al-Lubāb

Abstract

This research analyzes the use of the ijmālī tafsīr methodology in Tafsīr al-Wajīz by Wahbah al-Zuḥaylī and Tafsīr al-Lubāb by M. Quraish Shihab. The case study is Sūrah Yā Sīn in both commentaries. This literature-based research uses descriptive-analytical and comparative methods. The results of the study found that the interpretation method used by Wahbah al-Zuḥaylī in Tafsīr al-Wajīz and by Quraish Shihab in Tafsīr al-Lubāb is the ijmālī method. This refutes Ahsin Sakho Muhammad, who states that Tafsīr al-Wajīz and Tafsīr al-Lubāb are interpretations that use the taḥlīlī method. Conversely, it supports the views of ‘Abd al-Hayy al-Farmawī and Nashruddin Baihaqī, who state that the ijmālī method explains the verses of the Qur’ān concisely using popular language, easy to understand and pleasant to read.
