About the Journal

Numerical: Jurnal Matematika dan Pendidikan Matematika (e-ISSN 2580-2437 p-ISSN 2580-3573) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal for research activity on mathematics and mathematics education. The Journal published biannually (June and December) by Univeristas Ma’arif Lampung. The journal is managed by Study Program of Mathematics Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah. Furthermore, the Numerical has been Accredited Sinta Rank 4 by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, the Republic of Indonesia since December 2023.

Numerical: Jurnal Matematika dan Pendidikan Matematika is a peer-reviewed open-access journal established to disseminate knowledge in mathematics and mathematics education. This journal was founded in 2017 by Mathematics Education Department of Universitas Ma’arif Lampung. This journal is open to all research approaches from both theoretical and empirical studies. The emphasis is on articles that have high quality. Editors will initially review all submitted manuscripts, which are then evaluated by a minimum of two reviewers through the double-blind review process. This process ensures the quality of the published manuscripts in the journal.

Numerical: Jurnal Matematika dan Pendidikan Matematika welcomes manuscripts resulted from a research project in the scope of mathematics education and mathematics. The Journal publishes original articles in the following areas:

Mathematics Education

  • Ethnomathematics

Ethnomathematics is the study of the relationship between mathematics and culture. Culture gives diverse and interesting contexts in mathematics learning to be discussed. Therefore, the scope of ethnomathematics is an important part of the focus and scope of the journal.

  • ICT in Mathematics Education

The advance of the information and communication technology (ICT) has been the concern of all human life, including in the education. Numerical: Jurnal Matematika dan Pendidikan Matematika welcomes papers focus on the use of ICT in mathematics learning.

  • Mathematics Ability

Mathematics ability refers to the ability (a human construct) to obtain, to process, and to retain mathematical information (cognitive) and to solve mathematics problem (pragmatic). the scope of mathematics ability includes the following abilities: reasoning, connection, communication, representation, and problem-solving

  • Design/Development Research in Mathematics Education

Educational design research is perceived as the systematic study of designing, developing and evaluating educational interventions (programs, teaching-learning strategies and materials, products, systems) as solutions to such problems. It also aims at advancing our knowledge about the characteristics of these interventions and the processes to design and develop them.

  • Realistic Mathematics Education (RME)

Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) is a teaching and learning theory in mathematics education that was first introduced and developed by Freudenthal. Two of his important points of views are mathematics must be connected to reality and mathematics as human activity.
